Prof Kel Fidler – a key member of NMiTE’s curriculum team – and Karen Usher were the key speakers at the second “Conversation” organized by UCL’s Centre for Engineering Education.

Hosted at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in London, late last month, before an audience of 50 engineering practitioners and academics the NMiTE team presented a challenging contribution to the continuing discussion on the UK’s shortage of engineers and how best to educate them.

A key message was that whilst much progress is being made in the UK, Britain still lags behind the rest of the world as evidenced by the 15 or so universities that NMiTE had researched and was learning from.
