Project Co-Leader Karen Usher was invited to join a distinguished panel at the 2015 Annual Conference of the National Council of Women which was held in Cheltenham.
Karen spoke of the difficulty in addressing gender equality without doing more harm than good. She pointed out that only nine per cent of the UK’s engineering professionals are currently women – and this had to change. Indeed, as well as having a radically different approach to teaching to anywhere else in the UK, NMiTE wanted a 50:50 male/female split among its student population.
