Liz-TrussWe were delighted to be visited by MP Liz Truss, the youngest-ever female Tory MP to make it into the cabinet.

In Hereford on Defra business, and having visited a couple of farms, Liz dropped into our offices and had a cup of tea with MP Jesse Norman and Herefordshire Councillor Graham Powell, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Frank Myers, chair of Herefordshire Business Board and project co-leads Karen Usher and David Sheppard.

Karen, along with Tim Morris, managing director of ABT LoadMac, farmer and entrepreneur Phil Gorringe and Dr Helen Rogers NMiTE curriculum lead, gave a presentation on the aims and benefits of the proposed new university and the skills shortage it sought to address in engineering. With agri-technology being one of the four sectors we are addressing, it was a timely opportunity.  Indeed, right now, food is Britain’s biggest manufacturing industry
