Could you help develop Britain’s newest university?

Did you know The Herefordshire Tertiary Education Trust (HTET) is the charity creating Britain’s newest, engineering only university, the New Model in Technology & Engineering (NMiTE)?

NMiTE’s doors are scheduled to open in September 2018 and the Founding President/CEO is due to be in post in April 2016. Over the next three years we will raise the £25 million needed, deliver the first teaching building and student accommodation, create the curriculum, market the university to faculty and students, and open the doors to the first cohort.

The board of Trustees are looking to expand their non-executive expertise to assist in reaching these ambitious targets. If you have a proven track record in any of the following:

• large scale property development
• finance director skills
• Growing a business from start-up to over £25 million
• management role in an engineering/advance manufacturing environment

Crucially you must feel passionately about the need for a new approach to teaching the next generation of engineering students then please consider becoming a Trustee.

The trust is interested in meeting people who would like to work with us to transform the teaching of engineering. We are looking for people who can work with the existing team expanding the knowledge base of the board as we move into the next stage of the project.

There is a Trustees meeting or conference call once a month and sub-committee meetings as required. Apart from a range the business skills we are looking for individuals who have a passion to revolutionise engineering higher education in the UK.
NMiTE will truly be a new model in education and herald a new era of engineering higher education. Britain desperately needs more engineers 100,000 a year from 2020, this will be part of the solution.”

If you are interested or know someone we should consider please contact georgina.miller@nmite.org.uk for an application pack.
